A fashion shoot on sun drenched hills and dried grass
I've been wanting to shoot with Vicki for some time again, but our schedules never aligned well until recently. We ended up at Coyote Hills since it was nearby and had some interesting landmarks. There was a lake with a wooden walkway that cut across and there were plenty of golden hills. Vicki wore a cute and casual outfit that fit the location perfectly!
For this shoot, I wanted to use film exclusively. I went with black and white film for the 35mm format and color film for the medium format. I had entertained the idea of shooting black and white film exclusively, but I wanted to cover my bases in case the color shots turned out amazing. In the end, I was pleased with both, but the crispness of the black and white shots really stand out.
We struggled with the strong gusts of wind that kept blowing through the hills. I waited until there was a break in the wind, but sometimes my timing wasn't always perfect!
The sun was still strong even in the late afternoon, but as it went down the light faded quickly. We made our way further up the hills to catch the last of the dying light. The warmth of the sun was a good counter to the chill of the wind.
As the sun went behind the hills, we made our way back to the car. A few more quick shots and the shoot was over.
Many thanks to Vicki for shooting with me! I hope you enjoy the photos!
