Ektar 100 Film Revisited

Second chance with Ektar

In my last post about Kodak Ektar 100 film, I gave it a pass since it turned out extremely reddish in color and I didn't particularly like the look.

Normally that would be that and life moves on. However, I had purchased a new OpticFilm 8200i SE film scanner since I wanted a scanner that would work with Mac OS X. So while putting it through it's paces and getting to know the new software, I rescanned a few frames of the Ektar. Needless to say it turned out dramatically better!

Seems like Ektar is useable to me now. Skin tones are definitely softer and more natural and color is more muted. I am curious how it'd stack up to Kodak's Vision 3 50D motion picture film.
